Tonia's love of the ocean and people interacting with nature inspired her in this painting, Let's Go For A Swim! Three teenagers wading their way into the surf along one of the ocean beaches of the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria, Australia, provided inspiration. The ocean was rough but calm in this sheltered part of the beach. As the girls waded in deeper, they started to react to the cold water. Beautiful mint greens, pale blues and white give a soft finish with moments of purple/black for contrast. The painting is intended to give the viewer happy memories and thoughts of summer and swimming at the beach.
Acrylic paint applied with brush and palette knife and finished with two coats of matt varnish. Thick edge quality cotton canvas. The painting is framed in a quality white timber, floating frame, has a wire across the back and is ready to hang.
